Thunderbolt > Firewire adapters on older MOTU hardware?

I may have to buy a new Mac (Yeuch) but I still use an older MOTU 896HD which uses Firewire exclusively.

How do the Thunderbolt -> FW adapters work for this?

Thanks,

I'm using an Apple TB>FW adapter on a first generation Traveler with zero problems. I have been for years. The only caveat is that bus power is not reliable, but that is not an issue in your case.

TB passes a maximum of 7.7V bus power (and good luck getting that) while FW spec is 24V minimum. Apple battery powered laptops with FW supplied 9.8V bus power on one port only.

Thanks guys! Sounds like a non issue, as long as I can find my Focusrite Sapphire 14 wall adapter. It's for my Studio B.
