Yeah, I've been using this technique for some time, but I never thought to give them eye catching names. I really like ===========. I'll have to use that. Thanks for the tip Shoosh.

hi

I work in the consolidated window,
if I select a the track window, and then I came back to the mixer, only that selected track is shown.
I want to have always all tracks visible in the mixer.

how can I solve that problem?

Mixer mini-menu > Load Board Layout > Show All Tracks ...i think that's what you're after.

You can deselect all (cmd-D) before moving to the Mix tab. I also keep the mix window track selector open and just click-drag down the tracks to show them. If you work with the mixer popped out of the CW, this isn’t a problem.

But, per the OP, the mixer will no longer auto-scroll to the selected track when it's not in the CW unfortunately.

I don't have the scroll mixer to selected track option checked, but doesn't that apply to the mixer when it's opened in a sidebar? I don't see it applies to the mixer when opened in the body, it just shows the selected track(s). I am little bit confused when dealing with those two options.

I have selected track showing mixer channel in Sidebar plus Mixer in separate window (on separate monitor)

Hey HC, Sounds very cool!
How do you accomplish that?

I would love to have the mixer channel in the sidebar of each editing window.
I've already got the mixer on a separate monitor.

I'm not running Consolidated Windows, but maybe I should?
I like having independent windows for each part of the process.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You should! That's how you get the Sidebar Channel Strip.

I'm running two video monitors... Consolidated Windows - typically showing Tracks and Sequence Windows plus a bunch of different Sidebars (including Channel Strip) - resides on my main 4k display.

Mixer on secondary 1080 Display in its own window. The lower res monitor makes the Mixer a little bigger, which I like. I can scroll left and right in any window, including the Mixer, with the thumbwheel on my Logitech MX Master Mouse.

You can also float the Channel Strip outside of the CW and it will remain on top and follow your selection in the Tracks and Seq windows unless you specifically lock it with the arrow button on the lower right.

I will start messing around with this concept.
I'd always dismissed Consolidated Windows because I wanted separate windows for each function.

One other question...
Is there a way for DP to automatically bring up both channel strips for a VI?
I'm not a fan of Logic Pro X, but when I select a VI, Logic brings up both the input and output strips.
Very convenient.

Thanks

The Channel Strip is one track only as far as I can see. If the tracks were next to each other in the mixer, you could open the mixer in the sidebar and make it two channel strips wide and scroll mixer to selection in CW preferences. The caveat here is that you can only have one mix window open for a sequence (I think that's correct). So, it's either in the sidebar or somewhere else - not both at the same time.
