From now until 27 May, 2019, you can get the full versions, updates, upgrades and crossgrades of Dorico Pro and Dorico Elements with a 30% discount! Just use the following code during checkout:

DORICO-30

You have to act fast, as you can't complete the purchase until they review your cross-grade eligibility based on the document or screen shot that you upload during the attempted purchase (which then terminates pending review, with a promise of 48 hour turnaround).

Not sure what the final price will be, as it self-discounted to $195 from $279 before I tried to check out, so it seems the 30% was automatically applied. But I don't remember if there's tax or not.

Well, Dorico 2 is now installed (and authorized/registered), but it won't launch, as the splash screen says "waiting for connection". Not sure what that's about, as it's a bit of a chicken-or-egg when it's the first time and you don't have a way to set any preferences or settings in advance.

UPDATE: It was just VERY slow to launch. It seems to work fine on my system. The rendering is the easiest on my eyes of the Big Three (Dorico, Sibelius, Finale). I like the core workflow, at least. We shall see whether this becomes my primary notation app for new projects.

Condensed Conductor Scores -- is this present in other notation apps?

I didn't check to see what the upgrade price is for Dorico 3. I just recently bought Dorico so am not eager to spend more at this point, but will check pricing soon, to make a guess about immediate needs vs. likely Black Friday sales that aren't too far off.

Upgrade from 2 is $99 when I clicked on the link.

I think that the crossgrade is $299 —yikes! I remember some kind of sale when I did the crossgrade from Finale.

I’ve been unimpressed by the workflow and limitations of Dorico but that doesn’t mean I won’t upgrade in case it can now work for me.

I’ve just accepted a church gig that will require me to pump out charts on a regular basis so anything that makes the process faster is a good thing.

I'll buy Doritos once it grows up like Finale. If you're doing serious charts you're using Finale or Sibelius. Not to say that Doritos are bad, per se, just still in it's infancy. (I meant Dorico) (I meant Doritos...)

Shouldn't automatic scoring be called Cheet-o's instead of Dorit-o's?

Thanks for that; I didn't know they do that! Surprisingly, I'm not eligible, so it must be a REALLY short grace period. It might help some others though.

It's cheap though, and I just came to completion of my first home purchase today, so I may be able to afford it now vs. later.

Thanks, and yeah, one of the awesome things is that I feel more confident now in finally buying a piano of some sort, as it won't have to move more than once. :-)

I'm going to go ahead and do the Dorico upgrade, as I actually do need to generate some reduced orchestra scores rather quickly, fairly soon, and this will hopefully save me time.

Congrats on the home purchase! Yep, time to buy a piano.

Those were the 1st and 2nd things we did 40 years ago after were married.

It may not mean the end of piano moving as I found out. My San Jose Victorian is not practical for someone in my condition so we had to move to a (boring) 1960 ranch style in Sunnyvale. Because of its proximity to Apple, HP, Google etc., I could get more than double the rent for this place than I am for the SJ home that my wife and I spent 10 years restoring. Oh well...

Yes, but the bottom line question, as always, is whether you now will have room for more Doritos in your life?
