Mac + 828 mk3 routing help needed.

I'm on 10.8.3 running an 828 mk 3 and it does all that I need with Cubase etc brilliantly but I'm totally stuck on something, all I want to do is get it so that Garageband and iTunes come out at the same time and can be controlled with a single fader, or separate faders, in CueMix. I have got it so that they are mutually exclusive and I can swap between them by choosing different outputs as main out assign in motu audio setup, either main out 1-2 or analog 1-2 but can't get it the way I need it. I've experimented with changing the default outputs, adat loop backs, a digital extender to turn the adat ins into 8 more channel inputs but I'm beat. Is there someone who can slap me round the head and tell me what buttons to press?
