I want to start using a software synth that will give me the ability to build entire songs from it. Without having to use external gear when I travel. Obviously I need to be sensitive to the CPU speed and HD limits of my machine. I use a G4 powerbook 17" with 1gig mb.
I want great drums and percussion sounds.
Any thoughts!!

Synths, samplers, loop player, drum machine, sequencer and proc effects in one app.
Can't record exterior audio (i.e, vocals, live guitars, etc.) into it, though. You need a DAW app like DP to do that.
