Is that ever an issue for a summing mixer being used to generate monitor mixes?

Problem is that what he wants, an 8x8 analog line mixer, no one has made for years.

There are a number of digital solutions including this one from MOTU. Has anyone considered the Monitor 8?

Interesting idea. A Monitor 8 would be sort of a mixerless mixer set up. I'm still after physical faders though. Now if MOTU made an AVB control surface that would be great setup. Mysterious that they have has done that.

The noisy Toft pres wouldn't be a problem. I have nice outboard pres. It's the $ that's the problem!

I'd probably be fine with an 8x6, which is essentially covered with the A&H 12:4:2. That's a well regarded board and seems like the best solution so far.

...I still love hearing about other people's surround monitoring setups. It's always interesting to hear how others work.
