MOTU 16A Problem

Hi everyone,
I purchased the MOTU 16A a week ago and installed it this past weekend. I've had many errors with the message saying "cannot communicate with device/driver". I'm running Windows 7 64 bit on an i7 processor with 16 Gb of RAM. The device is connected via USB and I don't have an ethernet connection.
I found this forum whilst searching the net to find out if others have experienced this. It seems that it has happened quite frequently to others.
I went through this forum as well and whilst there are others that have/are experiencing this problem, no one seems to have resolved it.
Is this the case? I did open a ticket with support and was told that this issue is known and it will be addressed in the next driver update. I was also given a workaround which didn't work.
Has anyone managed to sort this out? Is there a way of getting around this?
Any help or advice will be appreciated.
