Track 16 running hot under 10.10.5

Still on 10.10.5 and no issues to report except I just noticed that my Track 16 is running quite hot. When I first installed Yosemite it had been running considerably cooler, just warm to the touch. Now it's really cooking in there.

I'm attached to TB via an 800 FW adaptor and always use the external power supply.

Just sayin...

I wonder how the OS could cause this, Magilla.

Seems it's passing more work off to the unit for some reason, if that's even possible...

It's a mystery to me.

The only thing I could think of was that the OS is somehow not allowing the unit to employ what might be more optimal buffering, hence the increased workload.

The thing is 'though, I'd have thought that buffering within the unit would surely be kept to an absolute minimum by default in order to minimise throughput latency.

These are known to run much hotter under bus power.

It's kind of a Hail Mary but I would check the voltage coming from your power supply. Also burnish the connector by connecting and disconnecting a few times.

Sorry but I can't think of anything else.

Thanks. It's running cooler tonight. I'll check that stuff out.
