freezing tracks

Post by banjoshark »

Hi-- I'm trying to freeze some Mach5 tracks (in DP 4.12) so I can mix down and burn a CD. But when the Freezing Tracks progress window comes up, nothing happens-- no progress bar or anything. I have enough free tracks (i.e. the studio size seems configured okay), and I believe I'm doing it right (i.e. selecting both the MIDI track AND the mach5 aux track). Any ideas for other things to check, or what might be causing this?

Thanks!

I find the whole freeze feature to be kind of pointless. It happens in realtime so why not just bus the output to a track and be done with it. Same thing in realtime and you don't have to deal with the program creating a new track and voice assignments and all that.

If you have your template set up with plenty of tracks it just seems easier to bus and record.
