Loops - Triplets, 12/8, 3/4 etc

Hi

Does anybody know whether it's possible to buy drum loops for Machfive which accommodate 3/4, 12/8 or triplet patterns? A quick search around the internet suggests that these are 'exotic and unusual' and you'll get perhaps one loop in a set of 200 which makes it rather expensive. Or is there some way (not too time consuming or difficult) to adapt existing loops in Machfive for this kind of pattern?

Thanks

Tony

Once you get any loop in MachFive, the sky is the limit.

You can chop them there, and import the converted MIDI into DP. Once you have the slices as MIDI, you can modify them to be any time signature you want. Very easy to do.

Thanks - that's interesting. Is there a tutorial somewhere?

FWIW, this is such a huge gripe for me. There are quite a few meters that are under-represented in modern tech, but are rich and wonderful beyond belief. You can take 4/4 grooves, chop them to 3/4 and then interpret the 16ths as 8ths. That'll get you some interesting results; ... "happy accidents."

But there is really something to the expansive cultural resources that already exist in those meters. Takes a little more digging to find them, but they're out there.
