Help with monitoring VST

Hello,
I have a 828mk3 Hybrid. I am plugged direct into Mic/Instr 1 and when in Cubase....
I can not hear any of my plugins when monitoring the channel.
All I hear is exactly what I hear before I even activate cubase.... Just my guitar.... No fx.... I am trying use amp simulation...ex. distortion, crunch, etc.
Please help!!!
