DVD formating vias Burn

I used BURN successfully to make a DVD recording. Plays fine on the mac pro.

My DVD player goes `EEEEEWwwwwwwwwWWww take it away.' Looking around in burn prefs there aren't many choices. I am way behind on technology and don't have a lot of discretionary cash laying around.

Is there a way I can get a more widely acceptable file type out of burn. If not, are there any free apps out there that have more format choices. I get mp4 files from the music study course I'm taking. But I really don't know if that format would work on my DVD player, which is not new by any means. However, it plays any movie we own and we have collected them over an 8 year period or so. I don't think the problem is my DVD player but I'm guessing.

Can anyone help in this area?

Ron

DVD Audio? Movie? Blu-Ray? Copying a commercial DVD? Other?

Only data DVDs are easy to just bundle and burn. Anything else requires planning and a bit of knowledge.
