Open M5v1 patches with M5v3?

I have a few old projects that were created in os 10.4.11, DP 5.13 and Machfive 1.2. I created some samples and sounds that I want to capture but when I open up these projects in 10.8.2, DP8 and Machfive 3.2.1 I get the "this effect could not be found" for Machfive. Can we open M1 patches in M3? Thanks!
