Quick VST patch change during live performance?

I'm trying to figure out how I can set DP up so that I can cycle through various patches from different samplers quickly and comfortably during a live performance. Ideally, I'de like to be able to switch sounds using a pedal or some time of MIDI controller assignment. Any suggestions?
