828x LCD backlight not working

Hi all,
I recently bought an 828x. Just this morning the backlight no longer seems to work and I can't figure out what the problem is. It is not an LCD contrast issue as I can still adjust the contrast. Does anyone know what the problem may be? If it helps I'm running it via thunderbolt to my 2013 15' Retina Macbook Pro on Mavericks and I have installed the latest firmware and drivers.
