RECORDING PROBLEM ON TWO DIFFERENT MAC

Hello everyone,

Here is a very strange problem that happens to me :

My config:

2 dual core Macbook Pro (2008) 2.4Ghz 4GB DDR2 RAM
Original Motu 828
Logic Pro X

Before buying my own Mac, I wanted to test this config on a friend’s mac to record a dj set: On its own, its sounds perfectly but the one I just bought I have loss quality and dynamic that you can compare these two links:

Set Recorded on the mac on my friend’s mac :
http://soundcloud.com/nick-morisson/nic ... es-of-a-95

Set Recorded on my mac :
http://soundcloud.com/nick-morisson/nic ... es-of-a-97

However, the settings are exactly the same for both recordings and mastering ... my friend’s macbook pro is more recent ( 2012 - 4gb ram ddr3 quad- )

Someone would have an explanation and / or solution to solve this major problem for me ; I’ve just bought this mac only to record my dj set and the result is very bad 

Thank you for your help

Computers and software do not affect quality and dynamics, people do. You are probably overlooking something.

If you really want to do an A/B comparison you will have to examine the same song/mix/set. The set produced with your friends computer is completely different. As mentioned by 4stripes any loss of dynamic cannot be caused by your computer especially since you are using an external hardware units for your audio (Motu 828).
