Using 828 mk2 and mk1 in combination

Post by SBRK »

I used to own an 828 mk1 and recently bought an mk2 because the mk1 doesn't work anymore (have to change the PSU). I know the previous owner of the mk2 said he used the mk2 in combination with an mk3, via adat. I would like to do the same with my mk1, once I get it fixed. Is that possible and if so, how ? Will I get the equivalent of 16 ins or 9 in, one being the combined 8 ins of the other 828 ?

ADAT is 8 channels, so you'd get 8. All ADAT gear works with each other--it's a standard.

Also, for 8 channels you will have to record at 48 kHz or less. Only 4 channels at 96 kHz.
