I have been experimenting with bussing drum tracks out of my HD192 in to my console -out of my console via stereo subgroup-and returning to the HD192 using DP4.5
I am getting this whacked out out of phase sound when combining the original tracks with the new stereo mix. This is not supposed to happen. What am I doing wrong ? I think it may have something to do with the tracks not returning latency free.
Am I right? Is this why people use pro tools ?
I need to be able to double my tracks this way.
This technique used to work when I had my Tascam DA88s.
I am also wondering if I am creating some sort of feedback loop. The recorded track output is not being used by another input though.
Help Please?!? Sincerley---Vato

Re: Bussing back into DP from analog console
you are creating a loop through your console. turn off your input monitoring while you are recording the new tracks. remember the computer is recording everything it hears through the board.
