Not hearing audition of plug ins in DP 8.04 [SOLVED???]

Post by MIDI Life Crisis »

All was fine until I loaded the RX2 plugin. I tried to apply it to a problem file and could not audition the audio. OK, so I stopped using it and placed it as an insert where it seems to be doing the job - and then went on with my work.

Today I needed to apply a plugin for the first time since then (not an insert, but applying the plugin from the Audio plugin menu). Now none of me plugins let me hear the auditioning sound. I see the meters move but no audio and it does precess the audio - I just can't audition it. I did recently apply the MOTU audio update and may revert back to the previous driver for the Track 16, but in the mean time, if anyone has any ideas as to why this might be happening, I'm all ears. Just no sound...

Thanks.

I'll keep the post up for future reference. FOund the answer in a heartbeat searching the forum.

Thanks to stephentayler in 2006 for supplying the answer and, of course, to James for keeping the board alive for all of us. This little detail about bundles was unknown to me. (IE- the bundle at the top of the list is where the preview is directed.) Who knew??? Apparently Stephen did. Thanks, man! You're a lifesaver.

Thankfully, it wasn't something else (worse). There was a good outcome otherwise as well. Before MOTU updated the audio drivers a few months ago, the Track 16 wouldn't get "remembered" by the system and a new device was setup. I didn't realize that every time it did that, it created a new plist for the firewire audio in the user/library/preferences>com.motu.firewire folder. There were a gazillion in there. I won't clog the board with them, but here they are:

Clearing thosse out might not have done a damn thing, but it sure didn't hurt any.

Thanks again, man. See! We never know how what we post can help year later. :woohoo:
