Which is most important for promotion and/or statistical pursuits: Youtubeviews or Itunes downloads?

In effect, what numbers are more reliable? And what do you think have a greater impact, commercially (long term) on the revenue of the artist, writer and producer?

As a statistician i am using

http://vidstatsx.com/ (ranks all the big youtube stations , based on 43 different countries)
http://www.statoz.com (ranks the most viewed tracks , based on 72 different languages)
https://itunes.apple.com/au/playlist/it ... d432756234 (apples top 500)

But things are lacking here

I am missing hard numbers , except for price, on the itunes top 500
On statoz i am missing more recent tracks, that havent amassed enough views to gop to their alltime lists
Vidstatx puts too much focus on complete stations instead of tracks.

Youtube numbers can be "fixed". The revenue from Youtube (at least in France and Poland which is where I get my rights from) is negligent. I never sold anything on iTunes (I write for TV mainly) but I should think it earns you quite a bit more then the above. Youtube is a good way to promote though, numbers notwithstanding.

I'd think youtube numbers are more transparant. Itunes sales numbers seem to be murky.

Anyway, music tracks with one million views oblige a tv or radiostation to take you serious.
