Hi Andrew, I too make alot of orchestral mockups, and I use Altiverb 5.
I do not ewxperience the flatness that you are talking about, I too use DP and Giga for orchestral libraries.

Here is a direct A/B comparison I did between a real orchestra, and GPO (Garritan Personal Orchestra)

just for kicks...

Yeah, the verb sounds great in the comparison. Sounds like you put alot of work into the tune as well. How much memory does the altiverb take anyway? - heard it was kind of a hog and should mostly be applied durring final mix down.

See ya,

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for the nice compliments. I use one Altiverb while creating the MIDI portion of the production, and then once I record all the instruments to audio tracks, I then use either four or five Altiverbs. I have a G5 dual 2ghz desktop with 3.5 gigs of ram and these Altiverbs don't hurt it a bit.

I also always use the CPU management in Altiverb 5 set to -144db to give me the maximum length of the reverb tail. I think it's -144db, I don't have the Mac on right now, I'm finally goin' to bed.

Thanks again Andrew!
Dan
