UVI Workstation cuts out when mixing

I am using the 64 bit MSI with UVI Workstation in DP8, and have 2 issues!
1. The volume and pan settings in the UVI window don't follow the faders in DP.
Should they? Is there a setting I have wrong?
2. Any currently sounding note is cut off by adjusting anything in the DP mix window.
Can this be stopped?
