It was a merry Christmas. I didn't get the tree up until Christmas Day, this year. But it was sure fun putting it up, then making a big dinner and having some company. Satisfied customer here.

Since we're "empty nesters" we were just a day or so ahead of you, Shooshie. We got ours up on the 23rd.
There is a back story of a recalcitrant tree stand, however.
I had to divert some creative energy to work around that issue!
(And I did call every retail outlet that I could think of...Sold Out...Sold Out...Sold Out.)
But almost all of our immediate family came yesterday.
So...bottom line...we, too, were happy campers.

Our younger daughter is moving back home from Sonoma State while the newlyweds haven't yet figured out how to do it on their own. So it was nice to have the core family unit at home all day - probably the last year that ever happens.

Wow! That's a beautiful family, Mike! And that's a million-dollar picture if I ever saw one. Take care and cherish them, but I hardly have to tell you that.
This was the first Christmas that our whole family was not together. We did have FaceTime, which is truly a miracle in its own right. The internet has made our family closer, even thousands of miles apart. The absence is endurable now. But I was still really happy that our daughter was at least here for dinner.
