Aside from audio editing I used Peak a lot for Sample Rate Conversion.

I had a ton of faith in their converter and now I don't know who would fill that shoe.

Their SRC is amongst the best, but in recent years especially, iZotope Radias has won almost every test at the SRC measurement sites. It is found in Wave Editor and the Advanced edition of iZotope RX2. I'm wondering if Wave Editor will have to drop it in the upcoming Version 2 though, as the license fee is high and they got a great deal on their original license.

Wow, what I bummer. I've been using Peak LE almost daily for, oh, I don't know, a decade? I hope the team finds a way to keep the products in the market, in some form or another. For me, Peak is an indispensable tool for a variety of stereo editing tasks.

Izotope RX2 is better than sound soap, but maybe not a real time plug

I have tested them all. It SOUND quality is the best by FAR. If you want something that appeals to your eyes, perhaps photography?

I just bought a new machine and thought I'd try to get Peak 7 to run on this one since I never got t to launch successfully on the last one. I don't recall if their auth servers are still running or not. Anybody know?

This is currently a source of confusion. It's hard to know when your copy is already authorized. The fear that this happens every time we launch Peak proved unfounded; it only happens during updates and re-installs. Someone on the beta list is probably going to "sacrifice" a machine to test the situation, but everyone is holding out hoping for an official response.

Someone did a fresh install of a recent update on a new Mac today, with no problems authorizing, so the server must still be running for now.

In case this helps anyone, there's a cross-grade through the month of June only, for DSP-Quattro:

Additionally, Steinberg have just announced a cross-grade offer that begins on 29 June, and suggest watching their home page for details:

How’s the pitch shift on DSP?
I have compared and iZoptope RX has been the best, followed by Bias

Well, I tried to re-authorize it on the new machine and it failed. It said I was out of authorizations (which is odd since I've only authorized it on one machine and it never successfully launched on it anyway). It said to contact technical support if I believe this to be in error. However, that is not really possible.

I just dropped $199 on the upgrade 4 months ago. Was hoping things would be sorted by the time the promised multi-track feature appeared...

What a disappointment.

FWIW I started using DSP Quattro some months before then. Been a good experience thus far.

If anyone hears anything (maybe they will salvage something and resurrect), please post it.

Cheers
