What can I do with Machfive

Post by Mwe »

I am less concerned with finding a sampler which operates like a from the ground-up soft synth. I am more interested in finding one which will chop up vocal/audio samples and store a number of edits/variants from this so they can be triggered quickly in varying succession.

Do you think Machfive is appropriate or would you recommend another sampler? I am using Reaper as the host.

Thanks

I think MachFive 3 would be perfect. It's very easy to plot samples across the keyboard and even set different samples for different velocities on the same key. That only scratches the surface. It is an awesome release.

Chorder

Creates chords from a single note, adding up to six additional notes.

now kontakt has(a hidden) one that you can use on any instrument; does m5v3 work the same? cause that would be great with the arpeggiator! can someone test it?

thanks

Oh. I call those fingers. Aunt Tilly used to have them on her organ. Chorders, that is. Well, fingers too I suppose. TMI.

MachFive 3 has scripting which will do what you're looking for. Check out the Telemetric demo on M5 on YourTube... I mean YouTube! (Tilly left some major scars...)

I will assume you are talking about the Telematic method. It's called scripting and can be used anywhere. It's not just for MachFive either. A few other samplers have it also.

I'm in the dark again (fortunately not with auntie!) what is a MOTU EPS? I used to have an Ensonic EPS (5 of them actually).

I can lay down piano and keyboard tracks - but it ain't cheap. ☺ Call MOTU sales. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to talk to you about it.

I doubt they would do that. Not good for business but frankly, speaking as a keyboard player, it might be easier to learn to play chords than to learn to script them.

Then there is this:

Whoa, Aunt Tilly! Rock out.
