X-TremeFX.ufs1 does not load! MachFive3 RESOLVED

Post by fastriffs »

I just upgraded to MachFive3. So far I love it. But there is one problem.
X-TremeFX.ufs1 does not load. My guess is that the file has the wrong name.. however it still does not work when I change it.

Anyone know what is going on here?

You might have to mount the ufs. There is an auto mount option as well. If you can see the ufs try dragging it into the lower left file window of M5.

X -TremeFX.ufs opens both. I couldn't open .ufs1 either but all of the presets for the whole FX library show. Opening the first .ufs connects somehow to the other .ufs1.

I was confused too, but I had confirmation from UVI tech support:

X-Treme FX soundbank is compiled with these 2 files ; you can’t load ufs1 in the browser tab.

In other words it is part of the install process, both files combine to present you with all the sounds.

Cheers

Xtreme FX was already on my system and I did not load it with M5-3, just accessed the old version. I can confirm you need both ufs files for it to work. In total that's 9GB but you get a lot of sounds for that. Check out the keygroups (list) in banks like Scenes>Invader, for example, and others. You'll see each sound and where it's mapped. Very cool and not something PSP provided as far as I can tell. Well worth 9GB, IMO.

Hello ,
Same problem here , X-tremeFX does not load in Machfive3. As well as other ufs soundbanks that worked perfectly in Machfive2 ?
Does anyone knows the trick to make it work ?

Well , it doesn't work yet , but hopefully , i'll sort that out !
The thing is Machfive 3 is supposed to read all the UFS files , including old Libraries like "percussion store" or third party Libraries such as "Acoustic Toy Museum" .
But it doesn't . Wich i find very disapointing ...
If anyone as a clue about what is going on , i would be pleased to know more about maybe future updates ?
I would love to load just Machfive 3 without having to load Machfive 2 to read my ufs Banks...
Thanks in advance for your replies...

no, scortella is asking a question that is different than mine. He is just saying that it's the same problem.
FWIW, my machine is Win7 64bit. I failed to mention that on my first post. His machine is a mac. He probably needs advice from a mac user... :smash:

Hi motu experts

I'm like to consider myself an expert too but I'm completely stumped here...

My MF3 also doesn't load "X-TremeFX.ufs"

new macbook pro
10.7.2
2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
4 cores

From MachFive3 plugin double click on "X-TremeFX.ufs" and this message appears: "Unable to mount the Volume '$Music/MOTU/MACHFIVE/XtremeFX/X-TremeFX.ufs' (No valid authorization found)
If I try to load "X-TremeFX.ufs1" nothing happens at all
I do have an iLok and am registered
I have copied both X-TremeFX.ufs & X-TremeFX.ufs1 into the same folder on my HD

I have a 7200 HD 500GB Hitachi HTS725050A9A362 HD built in (built to order MacBook Pro)

other problems too with MF3 when using it as a plug in
when I close the MF3 plug in window, the window freezes and can't be moved but it has been closed - the drag bar disappears

This mac is new, hardly any software on it and DP7 works fine

please help!!!

written to MOTU but it's weekend and I'm under time pressure here...

Kind regards in advance

Couple of things:

1- Have you applied the MOTU updates? They're up to 3.0.2 (which was a problem for me) but 3.0.1 was fine.

2- Have you reinstalled M5? Does it work in stand alone? Also, UVI has a free player which I believe should run Xtreme FX as well. Download that and see if it is the UFS or M5 that is the problem.

I think the issue is much simpler.
It says "No valid authorization found"

Have you use your redeem licence code that you have found in the M5v3 box to get the X-TremeFX auth ? (back of the one for M5v3)

It's a separate from M5v3 licence.
