Zoom G9 2tt

Post by dogBoy »

Hi,
I'd like to use the USB audio out from the Zoom G9 2tt to go directly to an input/track in DP (7.21). Has anyone used any USB audio device as an input to DP?

The Zoom/ or USB doesn't show up in the "bundles" of DP. The Zoom does show up as a device in the "Audio MIDI Setup" but won't allow for signal flow.... grayed out with faders at zero.. USB audio can be sent TO the Zoom, the Zoom can be used as an audio output.
Thank you

I've used my Pod XT via USB but gave up due to slight latency versus just using the analog output on the Pod. Still the way I recall doing it is you have to go into DP's hardware configuration and select the correct driver. You have to use a modifier key and you can select more than one hardware device driver (the driver for the existing interface you're using for I/O and the driver for your Zoom). Also change the host buffer multiplier to "2" (for TWO different drivers). After you do this, your Zoom should appear as an available input. Again you may get latency. Hope this is right-- not at my studio and trying to recall from memory. :(

Thank you,
I had to make an "aggregate" device(s) with the (Zoom)USB as part of.... then do as you've suggested. (watching for all devices sample rate being the same)

Latency is bad...and I'm as low as I can go buffer wise ....64!!!
Ya know, I just want something super convenient... as if mic in front of amp is in-convenient..lol
thanks again

Convenience is why I ended up just using analog. I never keep my POD tracks anyway. I use it for scratch tracks for songwriting. I didn't have to make an aggregate device however-- that shouldn't be necessary.

To use the editor / librarian (which is what your link is showing) you'll need 1 usb cable, 2 MIDI cables and a usb to MIDI box, that's just to use the software.... if you want to route audio into your computer you'll need another usb cable.... I think my Zoom came with Cubebase lite?? I use DP so I didn't play much attention.
I suggest not concerning yourself with the computer interface aspects of the Zoom. I'd hook yourself up to an amp or headphones and learn how the Zoom operates. It's a fairly complicated unit lot's of stuff to get your head around especially if your new to the computer audio world. So plug it in put it up on a table and tweek .... learn how to save patches.

look on youtube and see what's there to help you..
