DP 7.2 in DAE mode under OS 10.6.4 and PT 8.0.4

Post by plurye »

Has anyone (and by "anyone," I mean, of course, "Tripit" :=)) tried DP 7.2 (or 7.12) in DAE mode with OS 10.6.4 and PT 8.0.4? I"m being cautious - I'm doing fine with DP 7.2 in DAE mode under OS 10.6.3 and PT 8.0.3, but would love to upgrade if I can.

(And to save everyone time, yes, I know that Digi has officially ended support, and that it's not supposed to work at all - but it does.)

Any users out there who are more intrepid than I?

Thanks,
Peter

Hey Plurye,
I only have it up and running under 10.6.2 and PT 8.0.3 - which works great so far. Loving 7.2 and now with the newest VE Pro update, the MIDI routing problems with VE are solved.
I plan to update my second SL boot drive (my tester) to both 10.6.4 and PT 8.0.4 sometime this week maybe (time permitted) I don't think there will be any issues, should work fine.
I'll post back once I've had a chance to test it.

Excellent - thanks! BTW I misstated my current OS - I'm on 10.6.2 as well. When you get the chance to try out the new OS/PT configuration, if you can post your findings as a reply to this thread that would be great.

Meestah Tripit! Wondered if perchance you ever did get to test DP 7.2 in DAE mode with OS 10.6.4 and PT 8.0.4. Gotta get a second "test" drive going myself one o' these days... Anyway, would love to know, if you know.

Thanks,
Peter

Hey Peter,
I was just thinking about that today. I've been hammered with scoring for the better part of the summer and just now coming up for air. Haven't had the chance to try it yet. I'll update my other boot drive to 10.6.4 and install PT8.0.4 and give it a go.

Great - I'll be curious to see what happens! (Kind of like Chicken Little's friends who are happy to EAT the food but don't want to MAKE the food...:=))

Hey Peter,
Works fine. I upgraded to 10.6.4, PT 8.0.4 and DP7.2 - no problems as far as I can tell.

Great to know - thanks! Probably won't be able to do the upgrade myself for about a month work-wise, but I'll let you how it works for me. Meanwhile, got my eye on the new Apogee Symphony IO (an interface that lets you switch inputs between Pro Tools and native cards) - maybe it's time to make the plunge. PT compatibility not implemented yet, though.
