Hi, i just can't get device to work. It seems my MIDI interface is not recognized by Unisyn.

I have:

MAC OSX 10.6.2
Unisyn 2.11
MIDI INTEFACE: Edirol "UM 2-EX" (1 MIDI IN 2 MIDI OUT)(drivers just updated).

Image

KORG M1r (rack version)

Korg m1r and the MIDI interface are properly setup in the "audio MIDI device"
I tested the confiuration, MIDI in and MIDI audio ports are working. MIDI cables work. The MIDI inteface works too.

All of the transmit and receive channels for the M1r ticked.
The device is spelled exactly the same as in the device profile (Korg M1/M1R) (i tried also to name the device Korg M-1)
I set up the ID number for my KORG M1R to "19" (the device number wrote in the korg M1 manual) Generic ID for korg device is 42. I tried both of them.

Every time i try to add the device in unysn, it reports me this message:

there was no reply from the device :(

..so sad..

PLEASE HELP! i tried one thousand times..

Have you checked the device help on the Unisyn help menu? Sometimes devices have limits or different configs that don't work or require operator intervention. When you have the device panel up, go menu Help-->device-name to check this.

i checked the help guide for the device.. nothing helpful..

:/

i can't understand..i suppose the problem is caused by my MIDI interface

Anyway Digital performer recognize my MIDI interface easly. It's always a motu product..

A shot in the dark: Is the Korg Bulk Dump enabled? Does Unisyn show any data in its MIDI>Show MIDI sent/Show MIDI received window? If you do, then I would be inclined to think that the interface is okay, and that the problem lies elsewhere.

Hello

Had similiar problems with a ICON USB to MIDI interface and a KORG M3R.

In my case it was the MIDI interface wich I think did not recognized sysex.

With the Begringer BCR 2000 and MOTU 128 it's working.

best regards

PS.: IS Sysex enabled in your M1? It should be.

You can also check the MIDI traffic with MIDI OS

I have a M1R and no problems, although I'm using an MTP AV interface.

Did you make sure that in Audio MIDI Setup, whatever you have set the device ID to from the M1R front panel, you have double clicked the M1R device in AMS, and in the lower right corner where it says "System Exclusive ID" those numbers match? My Sysex ID in AMS, is "1". I can't remember if I set it on the front panel or not. I just got Unisyn working tonight after moving things over to my Mac Pro.
