Ethno Does[n't] Work - [RESOLVED]

Hi,

I purchased Ethno a week ago. Still can't get it to work. Bad/slow tech support, incorrect install instructions, no phone support (always busy, have tried for hours at a time)... Grrr! I've been a customer for many years, and it was never so bad!

Now the program gives me two DAT files not found, for both valid sound data and valid loops volume from the Libraries/App support... of course, the instructions didn't say to put the files in the Library, just anywhere on the hard drive. Moving them to the Library doesn't fix it.

Any good advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi,

I've got similar problems. I can't install Ethno at all. I keep getting "error code -36" when I try to install from the disk. I've tried different optical drives etc. No go. The UFS file *almost* installs - and then hangs at the last minute - but the dat file won't even start. I've emailed Motu but haven't heard back from them. I saw somewhere online that others had a similar problem and had defective install disks. I guess it's time call Motu... Curious what they told you.

Mac Pro 2x2.8GHz, OS 10.5.6, 16GB RAM, 500 GB boot and sample HD's, UltraLite
DP 6.0.2, MachFive 2.02, MX4 2.2, Ethno (not working...), Sibelius 5.2.5, installing Kontakt 3

Care to share how? It would probably be helpful to others here who might encounter the same issue.

I would like to know how because I moved the location of the data sounds and now I have these errors. I thought there was a way to tell Ethno where the folder was
but can't remember how to do it and so far my manual is M.I.A.

yea, I was using Ethno 1, and it work fine until snow leopard . . .
they did not want to chat or email . . .
finally discovered the hard way . . .
ethno 1 was no longer their concern . . .

warning, be leary as you too could be kicked to the curb on this . . .

cheers

Here's the problem.... Ethno 1 NEVER was supported on Snow Leopard and you weren't kicked to the curb. The problem is that you didn't properly research the issue before you purchased it. Why would you even purchase Ethno 1 when Ethno 2 is the latest version and DOES work with Snow Leopard? I think that you should accept responsibility for this one.
