Reauthorizing Unisyn ?

I should place this in the general forum as it would apply to any of the MOTU software but as I am only experiencing the problem with Unisyn I thought I would ask here first. My computer died so I moved the hard disks to a new (new to me old G4 MDD) computer, so I could continue to use my PCI interface.. I can't seem to reauthorize Unisyn. I found the instructions that involve using the terminal, but I get a line back asking if I want to overide the admin settings which are read only. In short I can't so I can't reauthorize the software. It seems like a permissions problem. I am logged in as an admin user. I have inquired from MOTU and thought I would start a thread here in case this a solution was known or to leave an answer for others when one is apparent.

Same problem here. We got a brand new version of Unisyn donated for our handicapped nonprofit org by the german Distributor KLEMM-Music. System is latest MacOS 10.6.3. when launching the program ist asks for the installer CD, when I put it in and fill in the key, the dialogue disappears, but comes back immediately empty. I've read all support docs, repaired permissions, tried to install and auhorize as root user, tried different computers all without success. KLEMM couldn't help. So please help anybody!

This may or may not help, but it might be worth taking a look at:
