Hi all,

Help. I can get it to work in any application, garageband, logic, performer, etc. When I double click on the icon, nothing happens. I am on an intel macbook 2g with 2g of ram also. I have installed the combo update (10.4.11) from apple twice. I am on system 10.4.11... Same results with symphony.

Thanks for your help

It doesn't run in standalone mode. Only within an audio app as a "plug-in".

That is not correct; all of MOTU's VIs except MX4 run as standalone apps on both Mac & Windows. From What are the system requirements for Ethno Instrument?:
MOTU Ethno Instrument has the following system requirements:

<snip>

For Macintosh:

<snip>

An audio sequencer software package that hosts MAS, AU, VST, or RTAS/HTDM instrument plug-ins. As MSI has 34 outputs (stereo main outs + 16 stereo aux outputs), the host needs to support instruments with greater than 32 outputs. Alternately, Ethno Instrument can be used as a standalone application.

Are you running the v1.01 update from MOTU?

Is working fine standalone here on Mac Pro and MacBook Pro, but I am running Leopard. But I am sure it did work when I ran my MacBook Pro on Tiger.

Perhaps try repairing permissions too.

Cheers

I have the same problem. I've downloaded and installed the update and repaired permissions. Standalone will not start. What else could I try?
