Getting fed up with Ethno

Hi. Just wanted to type a few pros and cons about my experience of Ethno on the PC.. For you PC guys who are considering getting it. I'm honestly getting quite fed up with it, despite it's good sounds.

Pros:
- Good and usable sounds with great variation
- Many of the sounds are loop-based recordings of rare instruments, voices and sounds, that adapts to the current tempo.
- Drag and drop of MIDI and audio directly into your host software

Cons:
- The user interface uses the OpenGL 3D-engine which will make Ethno totally unusable with certain graphics cards (ATI Radeon for example). This might also lead to interference with your audio card (cracks, pops etc) You wonder what they were thinking when they decided to use 3D-graphics just to make the interface cool, when other manufacturers don't and still have cool looking interfaces.
- Instruments playable on the keyboard are small, and contains too few samples in many cases to sound "real". EastWest RA, for example, is a lot better in terms of this.
- It uses iLok for protection. Annoying if you're a Cubase user and already have a Syncrosoft dongle taking up space.
- MOTU seem to make no effort in releasing updates for this instrument for the PC, despite all the issues with it.
- MOTU tech support sucks. They simply won't reply.

You can load Ethno sound in UVIWorkstation
http://www.uvisoundsource.com/

Works fine on PC and it's free.

You just need to place shortcuts of Ethno.dat and Ethno.ufs in the UVISoundbanks folder.

Still it requires that the Ethno key to be plugged in and that Ethno is installed on your computer.

All Ethno features are available.
