I guess I was just in the mood.

I always like to see what kind of gear other people use. When I was first getting started with this stuff, I often had no idea where to even start. Seeing what kind of gear other people use can at least give you some direction to head off in.

It was also kind of a memory exercise for me, since I wasn't at home at the time that I made the list. I was pretty impressed with myself. I think that I got most of it. I forgot the LP bongos and the Fishman Aura.

Hey Six,
I've got a Boogie Mark IIc. 50 watt, not the 100. I also have an orange Roland Cube 100 from the 70s. Between those two amps I've never needed more.

Tascam FW1082 Firewire DAW Controller

Post by panewman »

Anyone have experience using a Tascam FW1082 Firewire DAW Controller with Digital Performer and a Macbook?? It's time to replace my G4 867. If I go with the Mac Pro Desktop, I need a PCI-X 424 card to go with my MOTU 2408 mkII or I could go with the laptop and use a firewire audio device. The 2408 has always been overkill for what I do......the Tascam FW1082 looks like a good solution, but I'm wondering if Digital Performer can handle it.

Thanks!

You would probably do better by starting your own thread over in the Digital Performer area --

That being said, I know that at least one user here is using the Tascam FW1804 with a mac pro w great results. A vendor like zzounds has a 30mbg you could always try out the FW1082 and see if it works.

Note also that if you are a registered user, MOTU has an upgrade path to the PCI-e 424 card.
