100k articles, 23k members

Hmm. Dare I suggest that most of those posts were made by the same two dozen members without incriminating myself too much?

Missed your supportive quips while the site was down, Chimp Mate. Glad to read you again!

Could you point me to the porn promoters please? That is, point me figuratively, not literally. I wouldn't want monkeyman to get compass envy.

I'm slowly learning when to look away from you, your being our resident expert-in-sin 'n all, Magilla.
Trouble is, you're too creative to be predictable and continue to be shocking, or at least a shockin' shocker.

read as: "he's hogging it all to himself, and not leaving any for the rest of us".

:D

seriously, agreed, though, we don't really see much internet trash around here at all. another possibility is that mebbe we're converting them...they'll use dp to do their scores from now on. imagine that on a "who's famous and uses dp" list. keep an eye on that user showcase forum...

Hey guys... I log on daily and often times I have time for nothing else than zapping the posts of these porn spam idiots. Capital punishment for spammers doesn't seem like such a bad idea. Frankly they ought to do some mandatory prison time and make examples of some of these people. Would that be harsh? Yes. I'll get over it.

On the same topic, I signed up for a trial membership at www.spamarrest.com. I was having to go through and delete hundreds of spam emails a day among my two primary email addresses. It's working well and it keeps some stats for you as well. In the week or so that I've been using it I have found that 88.8% of my incoming email is SPAM!

Again... look at that number and contemplate it. 88.8%. Almost 9 out of every 10 emails is spam. Think about the bandwidth these jerks are using and the man-hours and time wasted. Again, mandatory prison terms for a few of the more egregious offenders would be appropriate as far as I'm concerned.

To think that the inventors of the internet just naively thought that everyone would 'do the right thing' and didn't implement proper policing proceedures. I remember in the early nineties the internet being touted as an example of Free Speech with no censorship. So much for all that as we all waste time deleting our daily Penis enlargement adverts from our inbox.

Punitive measures might not be the most ideal way to adjust peoples behaviour, but it's a hell of a lot better than any of the alternatives.

I agree, Cliffo and Jimbo.
"Smite the scorner", I always say:

NASB: Strike a scoffer and the naive may become shrewd, But reprove one who has understanding and he will gain knowledge.
GWT: Strike a mocker, and a gullible person may learn a lesson. Warn an understanding person, and he will gain more knowledge.
KJV: Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
ASV: Smite a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; And reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
BBE: When blows overtake the man of pride, the simple will get sense; say sharp words to the wise, and knowledge will be made clear to him.
DBY: Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware; reprove the intelligent, and he will understand knowledge.
JPS: When thou smitest a scorner, the simple will become prudent; and when one that hath understanding is reproved, he will understand knowledge.
WBS: Smite a scorner and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
WEB: Flog a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; rebuke one who has understanding, and he will gain knowledge.
YLT: A scorner smite, and the simple acts prudently, And give reproof to the intelligent, He understandeth knowledge.

Seems no matter how you say it, it means the same thing.

Dammit, it's just like raising kids, or at least, how they're supposed to be raised.
Guess the parents are out designing spam, or sending it. Or reading it.

Sic'em, Jimbo.
