1ghz Powerbook Tit. Superdrive Broken

So I needed to reinstall DP and now have no way to do it. I hooked up a friends iBook via firewire, put the cd in there and it targeted it on start up. It reads it but when I go to authorize with the disc in the drive, I cannot get it to work. Any ideas how I can assign that cd drive to be the primary it searches for?

alright, i hooked up MY computer as the target disk, installed on my friends iBook choosing my drive instead and initialized from there, but now it is crashing upon startup, onto another search. HAH
