Intel Macbook Pro and CD/DVD drive

Maybe have a problem with a Macbook pro and CD/DVD drive.
I does not recognize some of my installation disks like a DP4.5 install
disk and protools LE disk. I know these versions are not supposed tu run on this computer but after reading about different people running DP4.6 on intel macs I wanted to give it a shot. But my drive doesn't even recognize my install disk.
Is this normal for an intel mac or is there something wrong with this CD/DVD drive?

I installed DP 4.5 fine on my Intel mac. Is there a chance you have something running that is preventing the CD from mounting? For example, I have issues mounting CD's sometimes when Parallels is running...

There is a chance something could be running without me knowing, but no I have no programs open/booted

Similar to virtual pc allowing you to run any PC based OS concurrently with OS X on your mac (in a windowed mode)

well worth the 49 bucks they are charging right now.

Better than Boot strap IMO. Why have a mac and want to boot up in Windows. I want to run windows concurrently, without restarting my CPU.
