Cool tip. We have so much available that we never use or know about.

Open Wavesfactory - Freelodica/Samples and scroll down to find the .wav for the individual notes. There are two note samples for each pitch (plus key, breath and mouth noises). I was able to audition the samples in MachFive and they're pretty good.

If you're going to put together the entire instrument, key clicks, breath and all, you do need Kontakt but a simple instrument should be able to work with any sampler.

Frelodica is pretty good and you can't knock the price.

All you need is a $150 breath controller and you could make that thing really sound like a $50 melodica!!

(Full disclosure, I happily paid $100 for my "pianica")

Now my wife is looking in the garage for her Melodica ... “You could play that one-handed.” Must I?

Thanks. I've seen some instructions similar to this before. Maybe this will work out better. Before, there was no way to layer the samples or to move the resulting instrument to another computer.

I did it good enough with MachFive but the person that wants it doesn't have MachFive. I can probably do it with EXS24 and convert that to a GB instrument.

Looks like the single sample/velocity limitation remains the same.

Melda has updated their pluggins to v11.08 and with the update added Spectral Pan to their free bundle. It's an interesting plug where you can sculpt panning in the frequency domain. There are modulation controls as well. I've downloaded it, but haven't yet played with it.

If you haven't yet checked out Melda Productions, you should. They have some good sounding stuff and analysis tools at very reasonable prices with lifetime updates. I use their Multi Analyzer and Loudness Analyzer all the time. There is a good sounding graphical compressor in the free bundle that I use sometimes was well.

It's worth mentioning that Melda has the "eternal madness" thing going on for a long time now, where every month 4 plugins are on sale. If you get on that email list, you can wait until the plugin you want goes on sale. They have pretty frequent deals, so if you aren't in a hurry, you probably won't need to pay full price.

Also on Melda, maybe it's been there a long time, but in the free section, look at MDrummer. A simple drum VI with .5G of samples with a very simple to use MIDI standard setup that you can put in your startup template and have a working scratch drum track with two clicks.

Thanks b. I didn't even know it was there. I'll check it out.

It's really exceptionally good. I think I may even like it better than my UAD EMT Plate!

GO GRAB THIS ONE!

Did anyone mention Archetype Sounds Lokomotiv?->
https://www.kvraudio.com/product/lokomo ... nstruments
These links still work and are good, couldn't see anywhere else to get it.
It's very basic, but it does what it says on the box, ie. a skilled coder who made also the AU
Cheers!
