We've reinvented the 8-track recorder with our latest Spire update. Our free multitrack music recording app for iOS now has expanded support for 8 tracks, new options for exporting and sharing, and other enhancements. If you haven't tried it yet, it's the perfect app for recording your music anytime, anywhere.

At first, I wondered why anyone would come up with a free 8-track recorder for iOS when there's GarageBand, now also free. Then I remembered that straight recording into GarageBand is a bit cumbersome. I'm going to give this a shot next time I have the need.
They had updated this plugin with one that was more efficient CPU-wise. And then they just released the previous version as freeware. Nice move, Wave Arts.
FWIW, I got their MultiDynamics plugin years ago, and it remains one of the most versatile & helpful tools in my plugins list.

For Focusrite owners, this month of July we get the Zplane "Vielklang" harmonizer, which also does pitch correction and the like to any individual "solo" source.
Sign in to your account at http://focusrite.com for the full details, and be sure to read the instructions, as they are convoluted a bit.
This harmonizer is quite sophisticated. Seek out the videos! (The one from Computer Music is fantastic, shown below).

Nice one. I like the feature set of the full version (more scales, MIDI i/o, etc.). But this gets pretty close. Clever features.

Which version did you guys install? I installed the latest 2.4. Maybe it's just me, but the plug in appears in DP's Audio Plug-Ins prefs, but I don't see it in the plug-in menu anywhere!

My BAD! Doh! Vielklang appears in the Instruments menu. I was looking for it as an audio plug!

Oh, yeah - that's an oddity I probably should have mentioned!
It is one strange effect plugin that acts like an instrument!
It does mention that somewhere - on the page or in that video - but it might have been helpful for me to remember to mention it here!

I found it in the manual PDF. I just had to slow down a little. When I install new plug-ins I tend to just charge right in and not really look at manuals much.

They did mention it in the video as well.

Had I *watched* the video, that would have been helpful.
VCV Rack virtual Eurorack. It's been getting a lot of buzz lately; it looks a lot like Reaktor blocks. Not sure I have the energy to learn another synth. I'm told a VST version is in the works. Maybe someone can inspire me. https://vcvrack.com

Hoops indeed. I ended up cancelling the account. Maybe I'll go back and open a new one later. Is the plugin worth it?
mikehalloran wrote:Don't know if it (Subkick) worth it yet (Snarebuzz, on the other hand, is a waste of time). Some of their freebies disappear after awhile so I get them while I can.
I used Music Box recently—it was just what I needed. I can see myself using 1850 Pipe Organ if I needed to do something quick on spec. Both are free VIs.
To update my profile, out of frustration, I asked for a password reset. ...
I got an email that MusicBox and Clock were recently updated — haven't explored them yet but it was easy to download now that I had jumped through the hoops last March.
Someone (a fan of the Colbert show, no doubt) recently asked if I had a sound like that tiny keyboard Jon Batiste plays... Well, besides having my wife's actual Höhner Melodica from high school, the Freelodica from these guys may be just what I need if I get the gig.
I have used their Old Tape Piano once. It's useable in a decrepit way that only we old folks can understand.
Of course, the reason they want you to download the freebies is so that you'll check out their Mercury Piano, a sampling of Freddie Mercury's Fazioli F-228. It is gorgeous instrument and, if I have the project that lets me budget an extra buck and a half, I might spring for it.
All WavesFactory instruments require the full version of Kontakt 4 or 5.

Someone I do mixing for wanted me to sample his Melodica so he could use it in Garageband. I've kept putting him off but I've managed to download Freelodica. Now to figure out how to make a GB instrument out of it.
