Take a look here.

They have an online database of plug-ins and you can sort them by various criteria. I found quite a good batch of free plug-ins this way.

Boz released this, too, in addition to his free Panipulator, which Dave Pensado really likes:

new freebie plugin - width knob

Hey guy, I have a new free plugin that I just released today. Basically, I took the "width" knob from Reaper and made it into a plugin. Mostly because I find myself using it all the time, and I don't know of any other DAWs that have it. So here it is. Enjoy.

Got it! Wow! Thanks, Rick!

I had to login to Focusrite, then click the link to get the offer and create an Eventide account. Then go to "Register a new product" there and enter the serial and licence number provided at Focusrite, and my iLok ID. Once registered, a download button appears. Just mentioning this in case the process has others a little confused as I was! :-)

Yes—it's a little arduous to jump through all their hoops, but hopefully worth it for a free Eventide 'verb. Looking forward too trying it out.

I was happy to learn I already had accounts at both suppliers. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Nice!

Not certain I would have paid $199 for this... (ok, I am pretty sure) but can't knock the price.

While in my Eventide account, I noticed recent updates for other plugs I have so well worth the trip.

iZotope Neutrino

iZotope has a new free plugin called Neutrino that is described as a Spectral Shaping tool. It has four presets for doing spectral analysis and multiband compression of voice, bass, instrument, and drums (because those are 4 tonal monoliths, right?).

I'm not sure if I would ever use this, as opposed to a more adjustable multiband compressor, but the price is right, I suppose.
