I bought a library not too long ago for contact that apparently used the actual tapes that 10cc used in the studio. It wasn't expensive. I have to see if I can find it.

Behringer has a new free VI out. Be forewarned their site is jacked up right now so you may have problems registering the free license, but you can at least download it. I don’t know if it works in demo mode for a while or what. I haven’t installed it yet.

Okay... I just installed and this is pretty cool for FREE... plus has full NKS support with previews.

Native Access 2 requires macOS 11 Big Sur or later.

This one requires full version of Konakt and is FREE, but you have to "purchase" the free instrument at Kompose Audio's site, so I guess they'll get an email. They'll send you a code which you redeem and then download with Pulse Downloader. Honestly it sounds pretty good. Basically the ethereal sustainy pad kind of thing.

I just saw a little demo for a free, simple, and pretty effective vocal tuner called Spoton.

Could be useful when one just wants a simple "touch-up" tuning.

There are other free and pay plugins on this developer's site, including dynamics, distortion, filters, also, an interesting looking "Noise-Assisted Stereo Enhancer". (looks like all permanent licenses).
