Trouble Insalling Symph Instrument!

Post by Fuhnetik »

Yo I'm having some problems installing MSI. Here's what I've done so far and maybe I can get some help...

1. Copy the MSI.dat file from the DVD to my C dive
2. Put the CD in, nothing pops up, I gotta go to my computer and run it from there...anyway I setup from there.
3. I install everything, VSTs etc and have to choose my DAE folders
4. Complete install and then it says I have to install the iLok driver, I do that.
5. I put in the iLok driver, it finds it, and thats it, nothing else happens.
6. I run Sonar 5 and it does some stuff and updates the plug ins.
7. I go to start > programs > MOTU Symph Inst and all I get is "remove MSI"

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT.

Have you tried contacting MOTU about this?

They may be of more help than this site. I only say this because Unicornation started out as a Mac-MOTU group and it remains largely Mac-user populated (since DP, the main reason most folk hit this site, is still a Mac-only app). That is, I believe there are limited number of Win PC users that frequent this BB, even though MOTU supplies many cross-platform apps and devices. Apologies, but that seems to be the reality.

That said, are you sure you've installed all of the MSI application before running the iLok security stuff? If so, can you see the app at all from within Sonar?

It may be worth uninstalling MSI, then copying all of the MSI installation content off the disc and onto your computer. I've had problems in the past installing bulk-amounts of material straight of CD.

Wish I could help more.
