Dave, if getting of the endless merry-go-round of hardware and software updates makes one a geezer, then so be it. Where do I get the badge?

Re: MachFive No More
MachFive 3 hasn't been updated in 8 years now. It's blatantly obvious it never really went away, the license to use the UVI code in M53 was taken back by UVI, and instead is used as the core of Falcon. The only reason M53 core libraries need an older version of Workstation on M1 macs is iLok.
There's nothing wrong with freezing a system and using it until it makes no sense to. That's logical and a smart way of doing business if you can. There's at this point though, nothing unstable about Falcon, and the sheer power of the improvements for some of us are well worth it. Falcon is IMO easily the de facto desert island synth, covers all the bases as well as extensive sampling and obviously UVI library support. In the webinars Matt LePoint still extensively promotes Falcon, I don't think the breakup wasn't amicable. There's a part of me that wished M53 was rolled into DP, but I do occasionally use the looper/sample mangling DAWs like Live and Bitwig, and it's nice to have Falcon there.

M2 Studio Ultra, RME Babyface FS, Slate Raven Mti2, NI SL88 MKII, Linnstrument, MPC Live II, Launchpad MK3. Hundreds of plug ins.

I look at it this way. The 1/4" jack on my 1956 Fender Deluxe steel guitar still plugs into my Line6 Helix.
Did I mention the Line6 AX2 amp I played through for 20 years died? When I called Line6 about a repair they just laughed.
I still run a computer with OS 10.6 so I can launch Unisyn.

Likewise, although I rarely use Unisyn any more. But a Mini running 10.6 makes the ideal server — it never needs restarting, unlike subsequent OS versions.

UVI 3.025 provides access to my MF 3 soundbanks (on an external SSD). System: M1 Mini, macOS 13.2.1, and DP 11.22.James Steele wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 12:06 pm Here (will be) the UVIWorkstation 3.0.25 Installer:

Much appreciated!
I found v3.0.5 thinking that it might be a newer version, but its creation date is 12/14/18.

Re: MachFive No More
I keep an old MacBook with High Sierra around just to run MachFive 3, so I can extract content from my old sample disks. MF3 was great for doing that… a really impressive app for its time.
