Here is my situation:
I am using an ibook running Tiger with the latest Motu MIDI drivers. I
first installed the drivers that came on the cd, but later I found
there is a newer driver for Tiger, I installed that. I did delete the
old drivers before I installed the new version.
I am running the fastlane through a usb hub, which is powered through
an external power supply. I have one logitech usb mouse attached to
the hub along with the fastlane.
Audio MIDI Setup in osx recognizes Fastlane without any problem. And
when I did the Test Device, the output lights lights up on the
Fastlane.
I attached a Yamaha MIDI keyboard to the input of the Fastlane, and
when I press a key, the red light for the input lights up. However,
when I try to use it with any of my audio programs, which all have
both of the Fastlane MIDI ports enabled, no input shows up when I
press on the MIDI keyboard. There is sound if I use the mouse to press
the virtual keyboard in the audio programs. I have also used MIDI Monitor to look for any input data, but nothing.
I then tried plug directly into the usb port, and everything worked.
The USB hub that I am using is a Belkin 4 port usb hub.
