DP 4.6 w/ quicksilver dual1 gigG4 Panther or Tiger?

hi i have older setup,i am planing to upgrade to a g5 in the next few months,but until that time, what is the consensus on dual 1gig g4 running dp4.6 should i stay in panther(10.38 or 10.39) or upgrade to 10.42 ? thanks in advance

I'm running DP 4.52 on a Quicksilver Dual 1GB with 2GB RAM in 10.3.9 and it runs fairly smoothly. I get the occassional crash or freeze-up, but for the most part it's stable. I haven't taken the plunge on 4.6 yet as the pitch automation seems problematic and I don't currently use VI's (no need for VRacks) but will eventually. We may go up to 10.4 at some point.

Power-wise, I am needing to freeze tracks on more intense mixes as I like to use lots of Vintage Warmer and the 'Tone plugs... It's a reasonably good workhorse, though.

i am using alot of vi;s so g4 is somewhat limited,what i'm trying to find out if there is better performance w/ G4 /4.6 compared to,G4 4.52 and is there a performance benefit or hit using 4.6 /with tiger or am i better off staying in panther on older systems?
