ADAT to Traveler to Logic Via Optical Cables

Post by jaymo »

Hey All,

First time poster on this site.

I'm trying to figure out how to transfer some old recorded material from my Alesis ADAT machine into a MOTU Traveler into Logic via optical digital cables. I have been successful transfering from the ADAT machine using the 8-1/4 inch intputs in the back the Traveler but can't seem to figure out the transfer via digital cables. The Traveler is seeing the ADAT machine when I plug the digital cables in as the "ADAT IN" light turns on. Any help would be appreciated.

Some details:
MOTU Traveler with updated software.
Logic 7.1.1.
LaCie 250 GB external Drive.
Powerbook G4 w/1 GB RAM.

MOTU FireWire Audio Set Up:
Sample Rate 44100
Clock Source Internal
Optical Input ADAT
Default Stereo Input/Outputs Analog 1-2

thank you,

Jaymo

I'm not sure this will help or not,but have you checked the audio setup of your travler, digital I/O to optical adat?
Also, dosnt the adat's clock have to be set to external?
I dont have the same set up,mine is 828 optical to a vsr-880,and i hav to set the vsr clock to optical(ext)and my 828 audio setup to opticalI/O(toslink)
in my case.
Otherwise that was the prob i had when my vsr wasnt set to external clock, setting the clock solved it.hope its that simple.
