Help! OMF Error 28 & 53

Post by dix »

I see on other threads that OMF Error 28 (cannot locate media) is fixed by setting the permissions to Read & Write. However on this particular file I'm getting the error even though the permissions are set correctly.

...also I tried repairing permissions on my boot drive, after which I now get Error 53 (cannot locate media) when I try to import.

Any ideas? Was the file saved improperly possibly?

Ok. I had the editor re-save the project using several of the various methods suggested here and elsewhere, but all embedded OMFs and AAFs that come from this one guy gets an "OMFI_ERR: File not found. OMF error code = 28". The files are 1gb+ files, so the media is in there somewhere. What else can I do?

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Did the OMF file come from Nuendo? For some reason, I can never get a Nuendo OMF file to open in DP. However, OMF files exported in DP opens just fine in Nuendo. Anyone else have luck with opening Nuendo OMF files?
