Get into the music business

Post by Raindogred »

Guys I'm desperate to crack into the music biz. I feel the only thing holding me back is that I don't look the part!! Desperate to get hold of one of these, feeling sad that I missed the boat, came up a dollar short and a day late....

Imagine the knowing looks of respect you would get rocking up to music executive meeting toting one of these beauties on your shoulder?????
Mike did you ever have one of these or see one? What a thing of beauty...I'd love to get one.

Sweetwater shows it's available.

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... --motu-bag

Who knew?
MOTU Bag Features:
Main compartment with large accessory pockets (for laptop batteries, mouse, etc.)
Second main compartment with reinforced file-folder dividers (4 compartments)
Organizer panel for credit cards, business cards, pens, etc.
Padded side pocket with clip-secured flap and external mesh pockets
Additional external pockets for small-sized items
Sturdy, brushed alloy shoulder strap clips, eyelets, and zippers
Padded exterior cell phone pocket with clip-secured strap
Padded, adjustable shoulder strap with rubber grip lining
Water-resistant fabric and construction
as does MOTU.com:

As for me, I'll stick with this sure-fire babe magnet — gotta fight 'em off when I'm sporting this fashion accessory.

Mike, that bag must be handy for cashing in the royalty checks at the bank each month,,,,bring home the bacon??? That's a serious collectible right there.

On a slight tangent my wife reminded me today by laughing her head off about the meaning of the word Motu (she is a Fiji Indian, fluent in Hindi), she saw my laptop open to this site.

The music business was good to me for many years. Post Covid, not so much. Guess I should have had one of those bags.

I predict Sweetwater is going to experience a run on the MOTU bags.

Sweetwater appears to be witnessing a surge in MOTU bag sales! They must be stocking some popular products. Get yours before they're all gone!

Same here. My retirement came a couple years early, thanks to Covid-19. Still, we did okay.

Pretty sad situation. I was talking to a friend of mine about this the other night. I was the pessimistic one. Guys like John Williams and Hans Zimmer (yeah... I know)... are going to be just fine, but opportunities at the lower entry-level for corporate/industrial or local market TV ads will evaporate. It was already bad. Decades ago I wanted to get my feet wet in doing original music for local 30 second TV ads. When a guy I knew who had a small local production agency wanted to pay me $50 (... cause he knew a guy who once did that for him... and conditions were little/no revisions... I'm laughing as I type this)... I was over it. I told him no offense but I wouldn't walk into my studio and power up the gear for $50. Thanks but no thanks.
