Meter bridge VS Mixer meters

Post by Mantronics »

Hi, anybody knows why in the meter bridge page the max level in 0dB and in the mixer page is +6dB ?
Example, I play a signal at 0dB, in the meter bridge I see 0dB, but in the channel meter is +6dB.
Is there a way to change the scale in the mixer avoiding to the meter bridge scale?

I have also remarked on that in the past and would like that option to set it to match the meter bridge!

Does the "Scale" control on the meter bridge (p. 908) not do what you want?

?? You can drag the top down so it peaks at less than 0db but I don't think you can drag it up to 6db. Can you get it 6db?

Anyway, my assumption has always been that these are not the same meter. If they are, then yes, they ought to have the same scale.

You are correct, one can only drag it down.

My understanding has always been that the scale in the mixer is for the fader and not for the level bar graph. I could be wrong.
Or maybe the discrepancy has to do with panning and pan law stuff. I don't know. All I know is I never use the bar graph in the mixer if I'm looking for numbers. I use the meter bridge or a meter insert.
