Plugin Boutique: Screw these websites that force password updates

Okay... I have enough passwords to worry about. Maybe they have a good reason, but I'm sick of these damned sites that I log onto and they force me to make a new password because my old one has expired!!! It's not a piece of fruit. This means YOU plugin boutique... seriously... annoys the hell out of me!!

It's especially annoying when a site with relatively harmless security implications has lots of "your password needs to have a at least 3 numerals, a symbol, both upper and lower case alphabetical, and NO SPACES."

I let macOS choose the passwords, and let Keychain remember them. You can look them up in keychain if you encounter a site that doesn’t properly interact with the browser. It is annoying when a site decides to force new passwords, but it probably happens because their site has been hacked.

That. When I worked for AT&T and ASCAP, updating my passwords every 6 months was part of the job.

Nowadays, I use Chrome and the Google Password Manager lets me remember when I need to.

Yeah... I understand all that, and my browser can store my passwords. Yet sometimes, I find myself in a position where I need to log in and I'm not on my usual computer with the stored passwords. I understand why this is, but it's a hassle nonetheless when a website forces it on you. For example, what if this board software that MOTUnation runs on made you change your password every six months or whatever. Oh well. It was just a random rant!

Does that have the right mix of upper/lower case and unique characters?

A password manager does make accessing company's password protected websites simple enough. But when the website password is also the password for the company's app (Native Access, IK, Waves, Spitfire, etc.), it is a bit of a hassle, for sure.

Amen to that. Add to that that some password managers can never remember your login and it becomes more "fun" all the time. IK and iZotope sometimes remember; other times do not.
